Mr Black Treasure Lake Niantic Bay Arctic Warrior "Madducks" Lives in Niantic CT.	Mr Dark Blue "Gunner" Lives in Wadsworth OH.
Madducks is thriving. He is a wonderful addition to the household: joyful, energetic, friendly with people and dogs, a big happy boy! He is a true retriever, the most food-driven Chessie we have ever had, total counter surfer; he seems convinced that everything might be edible.  He is very vocal and has  a multitude of sounds. He also hates missing out on anything and detests being alone. Thank God we have Belle, our other Chesapeake, to keep him company.   1/23/2010 He is a gorgeous dog, and despite having some big shoes to fill in replacing Chipper, our boy who died earlier this year, he is more than up to the task. On September 15, at four months, he weighed 46.9 pounds but is not chubby, in fact he is leanand muscular and will be a big boy when he is finished growing.  He has graduated from puppy kindergarten andd is now doing  obedience as well as breed handling classes and we plan toshow himin the puppy class in a show in December. He is happy, outgoing and very trainable.  He is the most talkative and vocal of the four Chessies we have owned and also the HUNGRIEST.  I love him dearly, thank you for letting him share our home and lives.  9/23/2010 Ian Just a brief notr to thank you so much for Madducks (The star puppy formerly known as Mr. Black).  He is everything we wanted in a puppy and so much more.  He is full of character, loving and outgoing and he charms everyone he meets.  He is growing fast, when we took him to the Vet's officetwo days after we collected him he weighed in at 15 pounds, exactly two weeks later (last Monday) when he went for his second set of shots he was 21.5 pounds!  The vet says he is in perfect health and we have to take him on August 25 to get hes finalset of shots.  We have started him on Hearguard andAdvantix according to the vet's instructions. Hw illstart puppy indergarten next Sunday and then as soon as appropriate we will be doing obedience and agility. He and I will be going to showing classes when appropriate sothat we can practice for his show ring debut.  7/30/2010
Mr Dark Green "Hurley" Lives in Lakeview NY.	Mr Orange "Radar" Lives in Mentor, OH.
He has adjusted nicely to our home. He swims in our pool everyday—he hasn’t jumped in alone yet but he thinks about it as he dances at the edge waiting for some help getting in. I am amazed daily at his patience with Tanner who turns 1 next week. They sit together and Tanner gives him toy after toy. T climbs in his food and water dish and Hurley could care less. Every morning his whole backside wags when the big boys come downstairs. He is a little more rambunctious with them and they are all learning their boundaries. He is pleasant to everyone he meets and a quick study so far on manners.  7/2010 Hurley is great!   He is getting big and strong these days but is a gentle giant. He finished his 8 week puppy training class and was a quick study (the easiest Chessie the trainer has ever worked with). We are hoping to get him back into some more training in the near future. I will send some pics soon- he is transitioning from pool dog to snow dog! We had our first big snowstorm yesterday and today (2 feet!)- Hurley is EXHAUSTED- he was playing like mad all day in the snow while the neighborhood kids made snow forts.  For the most part, he is a real pleaser- he just wants to be wherever we are. We had one episode where he discovered a mulch bed to dig in on the side of the house in a rainstorm- he came around the corner with a BLACK face- Ugh! That is the worst trouble he has gotten into. He and our 1 year old are buddies- they play chase and trade toys and love to get at each others food. Each day, when the school bus comes down the street, he sits blot upright at the door and shakes with excitement that the big boys are home. Having not had a pup since I was a kid I forget how easy going and malleable he is. He has a manly bark these days and deep roo roos to greet everyone- he is super friendly. His energy is endless and we love him!  Thank you again for such a great puppy!  12/2010	He is doing great.  He weighs about 70lbs already and quickly became part of the family.  Radar really took to the water this summer.  He loved jumping in off the back of the boat and played at the beach.  Dec. 2010. Radar (Mr. Orange) is now 100 lbs.  His paws still look a little big for him. I hope he will be done at 100 lbs and lose some puppy fat.  Unfortunately, there is not too much puppy fat on him.  We love to play in the snow and everyone is amazed at how mellow he is for a 9 month old 100 pound puppy.  He has graduated from two obedience classes at Digging Dogs and we are now working on our Intro to agility fundamentals.  For the first two obedience classes he was the teacher’s pet, so to speak.  Sandy, our instructor, made Radar and I go last for any exercises.  While we would wait our turn, if we were not practicing, Radar was patiently laying down and waiting his turn.  When we finished an exercise, Sandy would say, :Now that’s how it’s done!”  2/27/2011

I get a tremendous number of complements on his looks and his calmness.  At first, I thought people were flattering me, but almost everyone who talks to me about Obie mentions how laid back he seems.  He just walks up to people at the dog park, sits in front of them, and waits for them to pet him.  He has jumped up a few times, but those times were really unusual.  It's like he might jump up 3 times a week, but he'll sit in front of people to be pet dozens of times.  He weighs 62 lbs now, his paws are HUGE, and he has so much extra skin. 10/26/2010 Cherie Obie is doing wonderfully.  We did puppy socialization then puppy kindergarten and now we are in basic obedience.  He is, once again, sometimes used as a model dog in class.  The teacher showed everyone that dogs should be calm and able to be handled.  She opened Obie's mouth and showed everyone his teeth. He isn't as possessive with tennis balls anymore.  I threw the ball for him on Wednesday and alternated having him return one ball to me and another dog returning a second ball.  Then I made Obie wait in between his turns.  That sharing went really well, and I am glad that he can wait his turn now.  I feel like it took a couple of months to get to that point. Someone at the dog park asked me what kind of dog Obie was.  When I told him, he said that Obie seemed small for the breed.  Hilarious.  I told him Obie was 6 months and laughed about it later.  11/27/2010	So at 5 mos, he's 65 lbs, a very lovable and energetic young boy.  Everybody remarks at the coloring and how calm he is.  If they only knew.  Then we know Chessies.  Sending a bunch of shots from Montauk fishing on a couple of different dates where/ when he learned to lick his fish in style from cousin Lab, Billy's "Sweetie". Unlike Sweetie, an adult, Ebby took a few naps during the action at the urging of his puppy brain, so his body could grow some more.  All fish returned except one to eat...   10/21/2010 Garry    We make daily trips to LI Sound, only minutes away, for exercise and a swim with friends.and after seeing the couple of pix of him I sent you some time ago.and his litter-mates, realized I needed to update you.here's a few from last week at the Sound, wind screaming at 50 kts, cold as hell.and he's warm as toast, and frisky.beautiful sedge coat, his "angel wings" still prominent, and now, probably wears them for life.seven months this weekend and 85 lbs.and still growing.some big boy.80% adult body.and 80% puppy brain.that'll straighten out as we both know 12/12/2010

	I thought it was a pretty setting to take a picture of Roxy, The old guy in the picture is just to hold her in place for the camera.  She is in force fetch right now and is doing pretty well.  She is a happy companion with a good bit of gas in her tank. It is hard not to think of Maggie and Rosie when I look at her.  Just wanted you to see her and let you know things are going well with her.  11/21/2010 Hey I just want to say to you specifically….nice breeding.  This little girl is all I could have hoped for.  It doesn’t hurt that when I look at her she reminds me of the two best dogs that ever passed through here.  She is going to be alright in the field, how alright is up in the air.  So far the marks have been short and simple but she runs right down her nose to the bird.  We are forcing right now, and as soon as I am done with that we will begin to ratchet up the field work.  It is so strange to have only one young dog…I used to put them on the truck with the big dogs and head out, but this time she has the full focus and we are moving at her speed….It has been working really well so far.  11/25/2010
Miss Shiny Green  Treasure Lake Calla-Lilly Rose "Calli" Lives in Fort Knox, KY.	Miss Silver Treasure Lake Charlie "Charlie" Lives in Jeannette, PA.
She completed her first round of Puppy School back in October with flying colors and is starting another round of classes in two weeks.  She amazes us everyday with how smart she is, and how much she can eat! I swear you gave us a dog with a hollow leg! She is currently a whopping 52 pounds and getting bigger everyday. Her Vet is very impressed with her health and weight gain and is currently guessing she will be between 70 and 80 pounds full grown, although we all think it will be pure muscle. We had our first snow here not too long ago and besides swimming, playing in it has become her favorite thing to do. She is so amazing and we love watching her play in the snow with the kids.  11/24/2010	Even the littlest puppy grew up.  What a sweetheart. She's pictured here after surgery to fix a broken jaw from being hit by a car.  Thanks Dr Melissa for putting her back together so well.
Miss Shiny Red "Marley" Lives in Fishers, IN	Miss Yellow Treasure Lake Rogue Lives in Mandeville, LA.
Marley is now 9 months old and weighs 70lbs.  She seems very healthy and the only physical problem she has had in the last year was a bladder infection a month ago.  She gets along with everyone and is much more hyper than expected.  I am hoping she will calm down once she is full grown dog.   Our family loves the dog.  She plays Frisbee and fetch.  She went through an obedience course at about 6 months.  She learns extremely quickly.  In fact she knows how to open all the interior doors of our home.  We have handles instead of knobs.  She knows how to get out of her crate so we had to get additional locks to keep her safe.   She loves to swim in the retention pond behind our home.  You can see it in the video I sent you.  The other thing that surprises me is how stubborn and strong willed she can be.  It is like taking a retriever and mixing it with a bull dog.  She gave trainers a hand full at class.   She is full of energy and a normal walk does not burn it off.  Aside from the occasional swim and play time retrieving I mix in rollerblading with her which she loves because it really allows her to run.  She is so fast which can be hard to discipline her at times when she tries to avoid you by running.   She is good with responding to my commands more than anyone else.  She knows them all but seems to protest bark when she does not feel like doing them.  If she knows there is a treat involved she responds instantly and in fact she tries to predict what you are going to say and does it before you will give the command so she will get the treat.   2/20/2011	She looks so much like Blink.

CH Voyagers Once in a Blue Moon  "Drum"

 Heavy thick coat, powerful swimmer, great bone, and broad masculine. Drum regularly swims in Lake Superior and lives in the upper peninsula of Michigan. His sire is multiple group placing with a MH title who also regularly hunts. His dam is a fabulous girl with enthusiasm for everything to do with swimming and retrieving. Drum’s 6 generation pedigree contains 1 FC/AFC, 3 MH, 1 SH, multiple group winning dogs.

These puppies should have the brains and beauty we always try to create in our matings.  Drum needs a few more points for his championship and will continue showing after he's done blowing coat.  (Drum completed his championship the day the puppies were born).  Blink is a wonderful girl.  She loves life and doing anything you ask of her.  She is a joy to work with and always trying to please.   She gets along will all the girls and boys in the kennel and is more interested in getting someone to play with her than who they are.  She's ready to compete for her novice agility title but that will have to wait now until after maternity leave.  Blink has 1/2 brothers who are Master hunter titlists and a full sister who is a MACH (only 8 MACH's in the chesapeake breed). 

 I'm exciting and plan on keeping a girl (or boy) from this litter to use in our breeding program.  There should be dead grass and possibly brown and sedge from this litter.  Blink's son "Night Owl" from her first litter is one of my favorites and is just an awesome dog in personality and looks and the new puppy will have big shoes to fill to live up to her (or his) older brother.  I'm excited to be expecting puppies again.
